Hi there,
Keyboard layouts in Parallels Desktop for Mac are inherited from Mac side. If you would like to use Windows-like layout, please follow these simple steps: For Windows 8, 8.1 and 10. Right-click on Windows Start button and choose Control Panel. Open Clock, Language and Region. Click on Change input methods under Language.
Parallels For Mac Free
We have a Macbook Air for home use, but I prefer to work in Windows (the same as my work environment). We heard about Parallels, so have taken the following steps, but are encountering problems:
- we upgraded the Mac OS to Yosemite
- we purchased Parallels 10
- we purchased Windows 8.1 Pro Student
We have installed Parallels, and now have this on the desktop. We downloaded Windows 8.1 Pro Student and this is sitting in downloads on the Mac. When we open Parallels we get 'Parallels Wizard, Virtual Machine' which asks us to install from a device or migrate from another PC. (note - We don't want to replicate another PC, just want to run Windows on the Mac). When we the try to open the download for Windows 8.1 Pro Student we get the following message:
Parallels For Mac Home
You can’t open the application “OSGS14-WindowsSetupBox-32bitand64bit-English-4141408-3.exe” because Microsoft Windows applications are not supported on OS X.
Parallels For Mac 13 Keyboard Is Not Working
Does anyone please have any ideas as to the next steps so that we can start using Parallels on the Mac?? Note, 8.1 Pro Student is the only Windows program we have downloaded onto the Mac - is it just an upgrade, and not a base system and that's why it doesn't work??
Thanks very much
