I'm running Parallels 12 mac with Windows 10 and copy and paste is not working. I went more options and sync from either OS is selected (tried both ways with just Mac OS - neither work).
I have Parallels 8 and Windows 7, and the copy and paste does not work. I called Parallels tech support and they had no answer on how to fix the problem. Does anyone else out there have a suggestion as to how to fix this problem?

Sometimes selecting 'Virtual Machine - Reinstall parallels tools' helps.
Had this issue with both Parallels 7 and 8 (but my VM is Windows 8).
Can't Copy And Paste Mac
Ok I was able to fix the issue in Parallels 8 copy and paste. You have to go to preferences, click on Options, click on advanced, click TIME: change to sync from either OS
I have the same problem but with WinXP instead of Windows 7, and I have found that when copy-paste stops working, restarting the Parallels Tools service from the (WinXP) control panel makes it work again.
See also the instructions on the parallels site:
you should have Parallels Tools installed in the virtual machine, the Isolate Mac from Windows option disabled in the Security pane, and the Share Mac clipboard and Preserve text formatting options enabled in the Advanced pane.
jonscaFor Windows 8 and Parallels 8:
Open the Configuration options from the Virtual machine menu.
Under Security enable the 'Isolate Mac from Windows' option(otherwise the copy and paste will never work).
Under Advanced enable 'Share MAC clipboard'
Note: In previous versions of Parallels Copy and Paste would work with 'Isolate Mac from Windows' option disabled (my preferred choice) but this seems no longer to be the case.
You can still isolate the MAC...
Under Sharing select:
- Share folders: None
- Disable: Access windows folders from MAC
Under Applications select:
- Disable: Share windows apps with MAC
- Disable: Share MAC apps with Windows
Note: I prefer to isolate the MAC from Windows and only use network sharing when sharing files. This prevents any potential viruses from being able to access your mac files.
davI have found that copy and paste in my case were affected by Zonealarm firewall. Apparently Zonealarms web security was dumping my clipboard as a safety precaution. It would allow me to copy and paste sporadically after it dumped my clipboard. I believe there are other safety programs doing the same thing so check all your programs that try to protect you by keeping your clipboard clean. Hope this helps someone.

Looking to use your favorite keyboard shortcuts on your Mac and in your Windows virtual machine? No problem! Parallels Desktop lets you configure your keyboard shortcuts to work the way you want both on your Mac and Windows.
To activate a keyboard shortcut, simply press a key combination on your keyboard. You can also use these shortcuts by choosing Devices menu → Keyboard and selecting a key combination. This menu is extremely useful for the keyboard shortcuts that require keys which aren’t present on a standard Mac keyboard.
Customizing Keyboard Shortcuts with Parallels Desktop
By default, Parallels Desktop maps common Mac OS X keyboard shortcut key combinations to the equivalent Windows key combinations. That way, if you’re used to pressing Cmd+C to copy text in Mac OS X, you don’t have to switch to the Windows equivalent, Ctrl+C.
To see and customize your keyboard shortcuts, go to the Parallels Desktop menu in the top Mac menu bar, choose Parallels Desktop → Preferences → Shortcuts, and select your VM from the list.
You can also use and customize keyboard shortcuts for switching between Coherence, Full Screen, and Window view modes, and for showing and hiding Parallels Desktop in the Application Shortcuts menu, which I’ll cover in a moment.
You can edit, remove, or add a new key combination for your VM in just a few steps.
If the lock sign is on, click it, and you will be prompted to enter your Mac account password.
To edit an existing key combination, double-click the line you would like to change, or select it and click the Edit button. Then choose the modifier keys and change the character in the text field if needed.
To add or remove the key combination, select it from the list and click the Remove button (– symbol) or Add button (+ symbol).
Parallels Desktop Application Shortcuts allows you to access Parallels VM settings and change view modes.
To find the list of key combinations for Parallels Desktop, go to the Parallels Desktop menu bar at the top Mac menu bar, choose Parallels Desktop → Preferences → Shortcuts, and select Application Shortcuts.
