When installing Parallels in Mac OS X 10.6 I believe I chose to integrate Windows XP with OS X. Some files are now associated with programs in Windows even though there are OS X equivalents. Symptoms When Mac Client is joining the domain, the name assigned is different from the defined hostname. Resolution This issue has been fixed in Parallels Mac Management for Microsoft SCCM v4.0 Hotfix 1 (build PMA2012-4.0.1.31).

Workgroups in Microsoft Windows connect computers that reside on the same network. PCs that are part of a single workgroup can share files and resources, as well as stream media. To join Mac OS X Leopard to a workgroup and facilitate file and printer sharing across platforms, edit the Windows Internet Naming Service information for the wireless or Ethernet connection.
1.Open System Preferences from the Dock of your Mac, or click the Apple Menu and then click 'System Preferences.'
2.Select 'Network' from the Internet & Network section, then choose 'Ethernet' or 'AirPort' from the available services.

What I need to do is have a parallels Windows 7 VM join our domain but *NOT* ask the user for cedentials. ( The Mac is NOT and will NOT be domain joined ) What I want to do is have the user be able to initiate and run a few apps on our network, but this needs to be as spoon-fed,fat,dumb and brainless/happy as can be. I want to run the apps in 'transparent desktop' mode so they look as though they are native Mac apps. Before you say it, yes, I know, I could do this with XenApp/XenDesktop, but we don't have the funds right now for Citrix. This is necessary to satisfy the 'needs' ( FaceBook,FaceTime, etc. ) of one of the Royal princesses at work.
Thanks!
